Due to a fire hazard, Gas One has recalled about 19,500 adapter hoses designed to be used with propane tanks. The hoses can swell during use, which could cause gas to leak. The company has received five reports of swelling hoses; no injuries have been reported.

According to the Sept. 15 recall alert from the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled adapter hoses were manufactured in China and sold online at Amazon.com, eBay.com, GasOne.com, HomeDepot.com and Walmart.com between December 2020 and February 2021 for between $9 and $18.

Only Gas One 50140 propane adapter hoses are involved in this recall, including the following model numbers:

• 50140
• 50140-08
• 50140-12
• 50140-05GA
• 50140+50180

Recalled items have batch numbers “Pearl River 3Q20” or “Pearl River 4Q20” stamped on the hose itself.

If you purchased a recalled adapter hose, the CPSC advises that you do not use it. Instead, contact Gas One for a free replacement. Contact the Commerce, Calif.-based company at 800-698-5070.
