Did you purchase an Arroyo or Hideaway fire pit from Crate and Barrel between December 2020 and May 2021? You should know that the manufacturer is recalling 700 of these fire pits due to a fire hazard. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, wood stored under the unit may catch fire.

According to the July 15 recall, the Racine, Wis.-based manufacturer has received one report of a fire that resulted in minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.

This recall affects both the Arroyo and Hideaway Wood Burning Fire Pits. The Arroyo model is a chiminea-style fireplace and has the UPC 752370060107, while the Hideaway model is round and has the UPC 752370064501. These fire pits were made in China and sold exclusively at Crate and Barrel stores for about $700. In addition, about 80 fire pits were sold in Canada.

If you own one of these fire pits, the CPSC advises that you stop using it immediately. Contact Real Flame to arrange for the fireplace to be removed and to receive a full refund.
